Phase 5: Installation

Strengthen the connection between the target and an appropriate adaptive cognition when clinically indicated.

Awaiting qualified clinical review. Educational reference; not a protocol, formal training, supervision, or individualized treatment.

Suggested use: preparation and shared discussion. No qualified clinical review date has been recorded.

Phase 5: Installation: Review the target: Check whether proceeding fits; Reassess emerging concerns; Use the clinical formulation. Confirm the belief: Use the client’s own language; Check whether it still fits; Avoid forced positivity. Ask about felt truth: VOC ranges from 1 to 7; Relate the belief to the target; Accept an honest response. Monitor and document: Use trained installation methods; Notice obstacles or new distress; Record belief, response, and rationale

Why this matters

Revisit the desired cognition in the client’s words; check fit, felt validity, and any remaining obstacles according to training.

Client-facing explanation

We check whether a helpful belief fits your experience; you are not expected to say it feels true just to finish.

Clinician reference

Does this belief still fit? How true does it feel in relation to the target now?

General sequence and discussion checklist

Optional discussion aid. Selections clear when you leave; this does not assess clinical readiness.

Practical example / documentation consideration

Documentation considerations: Record the cognition, VOC, barriers, adaptations, and rationale for proceeding or returning to other work.
